SPECIALTY MATTRESS, WOUND CARE MATTRESS

Specialty mattresses are used for those persons needing prevention or relief from pressure sores.

These mattresses are also referred to as Gel Overlays, LAL (Low Air Loss), APM (Alternating Pressure Mattress), APP (Alternating Pressure Pad), Wound Care Mattress.

Common Diagnosis: Decubitis Ulcer, Wound - Stage 1-4 on trunk area, Poor Nutrition

Insurance Coverage: Yes. Prescription w/diagnosis required. Type of mattress will depend on plan of care assigned by prescribing physician.
